Greetings all!
I'm preparing to pull the trigger and book my first trip. Reading through the threads on this board has been really helpful. Thanks to everyone who contributes to make this info available to those of us planning to make the leap.
A few questions I thought I may ask here that I have not seen answered on the board (although it is possible that I have missed them) and I thought if the answers were posted here it may help other newbies who have the same questions:
1) What currencies does CFI accept for the main fee? I know that for all incidentals, etc I will need Dominican but I am more concerned with the CFI charge. I am assuming that they accept USD as that is what is what the prices are listed in. I am an American but currently live in Europe for work. Do they accept Euro? Do they accept something like CashApp? I know that cash is the preferred method so I am trying to figure out the best way to plan getting the cash in hand in the correct currency from the other side of the world.
2) Golf outings--I'm planning to go for 4 nights and would like to hit at least 2-3 rounds of golf. Does my chica go with me to the course? What is the protocol and how do things like golf outings work? I'm looking at doing the golf package listed on the site and just adding a 4th night.
3) I'm a sucker for comfort and nice accommodations--Would you recommend staying at Boca #3? It seems from reading through the threads that the original is better for hanging out with fellow travelers and privacy but the accommodations are nicer at #3. Does this kind of sum up the main differences? Is there something else I'm missing?
4) I have seen a number of people ask about language barrier and multiple people hop in and say it is not an issue. As someone who travels extensively and currently lives international I get the use of translation apps, etc. Are there enough chicas that speak at least basic English that if I make that a priority then BD will be able to accommodate? Typically it's not a big deal for me as I work daily with people from multiple linguistic backgrounds but if I'm on vacation I kind of would like a break from that. I thought about trying to pick up Spanish before I go but I currently speak 3 languages and am learning 2 other languages for work and don't think I want to try to add another. I already have enough language confusion in my brain to want to add more.
I'm looking forward to meeting BD and becoming part of this illustrious group :-)
Thanks again to everyone who contributes to make this board the wealth of information that it is!
