I am very new to this and looking for some advice. I have never ever after 59 years had an experience with anyone other that my ex wife of 33 years unto a couple years ago. So extremely nervous! How long would anyone recommend for a 1st. stay. I am leery of carrying a large amount of cash and see that cards are not recommended, are they not accepted at all? Im not worried about a paper trial as long as everything is legal or I would not even think about this. I am a pretty boring guy and really even drink. I would also like to fish so what are the excursion prices. How safe is the area? Is there tipping of the companion or is that frowned upon? I am looking to go very soon and I really get a good feel from this resort and the posts here really feel like a kinda family. Thanks CP01

Hey man, welcome,
Lots of questions, that's a good thing. I'll try to answer bast I can.
I would not stay less than 5 days, you will spend 1 day getting acclimated with everything including your girl and the last day pouting that it is almost over:-( so that gives you 3 good days in between. Any less and you will regret it. Don't sweat carrying cash, we all do it and I don't think it's ever been a problem for anyone. You are picked up in the airport and are never alone. But actually, I think it is safer there than in Chicago, Atlanta, New York, etc. And yes they frown on credit cards, because there are numerous reasons why not to use them. Actually I wouldn't use my card anywhere except at the bank.
I fished on one of my trips, the cost was about $150.00. It all depends on how many are on the boat, the more guys the cheaper it is per person. Don't count on your girl going, they tend to get really seasick.
The area is totally safe, when I stayed in town, a group of us would go out till 3 or 4 in the morning, never had a problem.
Tipping is not required, but very appreciated by the girls. If you think she did an excellent job feel free to give her a little something, life is pretty hard on the island.
Hope this helped and feel free to ask anything anytime.

Hope you make it down there soon.

Don’t worry about carrying cash. Remember you get picked up and dropped off at the airport. So once at the resort just carry what you think you need to walk around with for the time being and leave the rest in the safe in the room.
